I was responsible for developing the entire front-end and real-time 3D components. This project was an invaluable learning experience, particularly in the creation and management of hybrid applications. We utilized VueJS and Capacitor to ensure cross-platform compatibility.
The highlights of this project were undoubtedly designing the various wallet themes. I had the opportunity to unleash my creativity on a vast canvas, crafting engaging themes such as tactile furs you can stroke, whimsical monsters that devour money, a savings vault secured by a laser alarm, and captivating interactive slime. This project served as a vast creative sandbox, allowing me to explore and implement a wide range of imaginative ideas.
Blockly wallet editor
Every wallet was carefully crafted using a customized Blockly editor, which enabled dynamic loading of models, shader programming, color adjustments, and even the customization of behaviors. As part of our development roadmap, we planned to empower children to design their own wallets through puzzle-based programming, making the process both educational and engaging.
Light environment editor
Achieving an appealing aesthetic for the coins required precise lighting adjustments to ensure they shimmer and reflect beautifully, both when idle and during animations. To accomplish this, I developed a custom environment editor capable of exporting an HDR environment map utilized by all objects.
Slime
I create a depth map with coins and touch points that helps add special effects in the shader. This makes the surface look like slime by changing its shape and texture. It is the same effect I use the front page of my portfolio.
Monsters
These one-of-a-kind monster wallets let you "feed" them coins to swap for currency. Animating their eyes was particularly enjoyable, as even the smallest details added a lot of personality.
The Vault
The vault theme features a special room where you can store your coins. It also includes an alarm that sounds off if you or your coins cross a laser beam.
Unpublished experiments
There are several wallets that haven't been released yet.
